Antonios Vavouliotis

Antonios Vavouliotis  

is the President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Pleione Energy S.A., acting as the legal representative of the company. He is responsible for the strategic and business direction planning, as well as for overseeing and outlining the execution of the company's strategic vision. Born in Athens, Greece, he is a Mechanical and Aeronautics Engineer and holds a Ph.D. (2009) in the field of damage monitoring of fibre-reinforced composites enhanced with carbon-nanotubes from the University of Patras. He has a strong record of success delivering long-term growth strategies and top-notch technological expertise. In addition, over the past decade he has been involved in a series of international joint R&D space and aeronautics programs (ESA and EU activities) covering main aspects of space systems engineering. He is also a co-founder and the Managing Director of Adamant Composites Ltd.

Nuno M. Fernandes

Nuno M. Fernandes  

is the Vice-President of Pleione Energy S.A., and he is responsible for establishing, along with the President, the company’s mission, strategies and financial performance objectives. Born in Lisbon, Portugal, he has an Economics and Finance Degree from the Management School of UNL. He has also graduated the Engineering Faculty of Lisbon University and further holds a Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (University of Lisbon). He has Proven track record of success, including managing the Mechanical Division of Omnidea Lda and achieving department objectives on time and in excellence. He also has hands-on experience with financial analytical projects. In addition, he has been involved in a series of international joint R&D aerospace and energy programs (ESA and EU activities).
He is also the General Manager of Omnidea-RTG GmbH

Dimitris Vlachos

Dimitris Vlachos  

is a member of the Board of Directors of Pleione Energy S.A., and he encourages the Board's role in strategic planning and provides engineering support, acting as a mechanical/design expert. Born in Athens, Greece, he is a Mechanical and Aeronautics Engineer and holds a Ph.D. (2006) in the field of Ceramic Composites structures for High Temperature applications from the University of Patras. His research activity extends over a wide range of subjects, which include design and analysis of composite structures, as well as composites processing simulation. Throughout his years of technical experience, he has participated in and led various EU, ESA and national R&D activities.
He is also a co-founder and the Technical Director of Adamant Composites Ltd.

Zampia Kalogridi

Zampia Kalogridi  

is the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Pleione Energy S.A., and she is responsible for the implementation of the company's strategy, for day-to-day management, for business development, and for the project management of the company’s technical activities.
Born in Athens, Greece, she is a Mechanical and Aeronautics Engineer (University of Patras) and holds a Master's Degree in Engineering Business Management (EBM), from Warwick University, UK.
She has a wealth of experience in business development and in extensive sales, communication and commercialization strategies and solutions, having held high-level positions in the energy industry. Her specialization lies in the development of business plans and feasibility studies to evaluate strategic ideas, as well as in aligning the company’s objectives with long-term strategies.

Athanasios Masouras

Athanasios Masouras  

Dr. A. Masouras is the Materials and Process Engineer Expert of Pleione Energy S.A. Born in Athens, he is a Mechanical Engineer (Dipl-Ing., 2010) and holds a Ph.D. (2021) in the field of pre-organized nanomaterial structures of nanomaterials and their applications in composite materials. He is working on developing continuous production routes for such structures and characterizing the resulting products. He has been involved in ESA and EU projects related to nanomodified composite materials and structures for aerospace applications. The last five years has been involved in several ESA projects for the development of ‘Graphene-based systems for enhanced energy storage’.

Ntorela Chotza

Ntorela Chotza

Mrs. Ntorela Chotza is the Materials and Process Engineer of Pleione Energy S.A. She is a Materials Engineer from University of Patras and holds a Master's Degree in Science and Technology of Polymers and Composite Materials. During her professional career she is involved on the development of materials for energy applications such as innovative battery electrodes and membrane electrode assemblies for fuel cell. She has been involved in several ESA and EU projects aiming for the development of systems with improved energy storage through the use of nanomaterials like graphene.

Andronikos Balaskas

Andronikos Balaskas  

Dr. Andronikos Balaskas is the Innovation Engineer of Pleione Energy S.A. He is a Materials Scientist from University of Patras (2002-2006) and holds a Master's Degree in Chemistry (National and Kapodistrian University of Athens 2006-2008). He also holds two PhDs, from School of Materials at the University of Manchester (2012-2016) and National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (2008-2012). He was research associate at the National and Technical University of Athens (2017-2020). His scientific expertise is on surfaces and interfaces evaluation, electrochemical characterization with traditional and advanced electrochemical techniques, materials characterization, aluminium alloys characterization, coatings formulation, and novel nanomaterials development. He works on innovation strategy and roadmap in the frame of the market and the recent developments in the field of energy storage.
